treo 700wx gps sd-502 globalsat

Hi Folks:
For info, I just received this SD GPS unit for this phone, Treo
700wx. If you're having problems, here' are some pointers:
The latest drivers are here: http://www.usglobalsat.com/item.asp?itemid=17
by the bottom of the page.
The GPSInfo.exe program wouldn't even open until I had the right
driver for the GPS.
The default comm port was 4. GPSInfo shows the names associated with
ports. This was GPSUART.
If you sleep your phone, you might need to install the module while
it's not sleeping for the driver to load. This has a 'climbing beep'
when it loads.
Once the baud rate (4800) and ports are set up and Start GPS is
clicked, you should see scrolling data.
You may need to STOP GPS here to allow other programs to use this
port.

I downloaded Google Mobile maps. To make this work, you will need to
configure Start, Systems, Settings, GPS.
The first screen is GPS Program Port. Keep this None.
Under the Hardware tab, select COM4 for the hardware port and 4800 for
the baud. Here you don't see the names with the ports.
Under the access tab, I selected Automatic.

That's about it!

Open GPS Maps and Track Location under the Menu.

Out of memory? I was a bunch of times. I deleted cookies, and files
through Internet Explorer, and just that didn't help. When I pulled
the battery and restarted, just that free'd up an extra 11 megs. I
had 33, but it wasn't enough to 'load the driver' apparently. I hope
44 megs is plenty! Unless stack space or something else was running
low.

Note: If you install the driver itself first, without GPSInfo, put
the module in and then when you go to install GPSInfo, you can put it
on the GPS's memory.

It took a few hours for me to get this running and I was running out
of hope. I hope you find this useful.
Take Care!
Harry
