My Garmin 76Cx is very noticeably more sensitive than my Garmin GPS-V. However both are improved in narrow, heavily forested valleys by using an external antenna. I use a Garmin GA25BNC with a BNC to MCX adapter. I see they don't carry that direction anymore but they do carry a GA25MCX and an MCX to BNC adapter.
