Garmin GPS 60CSX takes a long time to turn on. Backlight is gone.

Garmin GPS 60CSX takes a long time to turn on, about 30 seconds to a
minute, if at all. It seems you have to hold it forever.
Backlight is gone. It seems the power button is failing. Just
recently all worked properly.

I dropped it right before it all started, I wonder if that's what
messed it up?

I tried different cells, fresh Alkalines, freshly charged NiMH.. to no
avail.

Is this a failure, or some kind of a feature?
