one way to split a track is to copy the track then delete part of
the copy, leaving only the part you want to keep <<
My problem is that I haven't found a way of deleting part of a track. I
asked in a French forum and was told that, unlike Anquet that I use in the
UK, this was not possible under IGNRando (if there is a way and you know
it, please tell me). Therefore I processed manually the .rdn file under
Excel but now I am stuck because I don't know how to re-transform the .xls
file into .rdn.

I speak French and I searched for a French-language group but didn't find
anything really specialised in IGNRando. If you know any, please point me
towards them.

I fear that my recollection was false. I have tried, but have not succeeded
in splitting a route in IGNRando. I don't think that it makes a distinction
between a route and a track. Perhaps that was why I gave up using it. I now
use GPS Topo mapping and can edit the tracks with MapSource.
