Hi!
Does anybody know whether the eMap can work with a bigger data card than
128Mb or not?
Some Sellers say it should work (but the card must be loaded directly on
the GPS without making use of the USB-Adapter) while others underline
the fact that Garmin did not directly add the eMap name in the list of
compatible devices (maybe only because it is discontinued?).
I only know of the 525 map-chank limit...
Can´t the firmware/hardware of the eMap cope with bigger cards?
If I put, say, a 256Mb card in, will it work at all? Or is it only going
to be partially (<256Mb) used?
Thank you very much in advance,
Alberto
Software version 2.90 is latest software and as of 2.62 firmware which
I will post below states 128mb garmin gard is biggest it will use.
That is what I use in my emap.
Changes made from version 2.61 to 2.62:
Reduced map drawing delays when showing next street in areas of dense
map data.
Eliminated route corruption in routes received through the serial data
interface due to duplicately-named waypoints within the route being
received.
Eliminated storing trailing spaces in waypoint names.
Fixed highlight movement on time setup page when restoring defaults.
Increased bad block limit to support 64 MB and 128 MB data cards.
Changed a few German translations.
Nothing has been added in change log since 2.62 has saiid anything
different so I would not use higher then 128mb card.
