I had one for a long time, but sold it since it was "surplus" when I got a
Meridian and an Explorist 600. I found it to be a good little unit with no
big surprises.

A friend of mine who has never used a gps before just bought one of
these new out of the bargain bin at Crap Tire. Are there any gotcha's
or other comments not mentioned in the popular reviews that he should
be warned about?

Seems like a nice enough unit, but I am not at all familiar with any
magellan products newer than the 1000, hahaha!
