We have a Garmin GPS II Plus and a small bluetooth-connected GPS for our
cellphone.
While new GPS satellite systems are going up now,
we want to know how long we can reasonably expect
our current GPS gear to operate,
ie, with the original GPS satellite system system.
TIA
The US periodically replaces older GPS satellites with newer and improved
ones. These then for all it matters take on the personality of the one they
are replacing. I think that the maximum number of active satellites is 32.
The older GPS receivers will pick up the new satellites and the
receivers can continue to operate normally.
