In general the freezing point for the liquid used in LCD's is lower
than the freezing point of water so that might not be a concern in
your area.

Don't forget there might be other components in your device
suspectable to cold (and heet). However one really should consult the
specifications for any electronic device to see over what range a
device will store and operate. I just checked the manual for my Garmin
and it claims its ok down to -15C (well below the point where water
freezes but not below the low temperatures here in Chicago!).
