Time Square Ball Discrepency

I watched the ball come down tonight on TV and turned on my Garmin
iQue 3600 to do the countdown and there was a 7 second discrepency
(the ABC TV clock and the Ball happened 7 seconds after when my Garmin
said it was midnight in NYC). So I just assummed that since I had not
turned on the unit in about a day, perhaps the clock on the iQue was
out of sync. So I sync'd my watch to the iQue and then when outside
and got an active satellite fix. The time only changed by 1 second.

So what perhaps is the reason why my iQue was 6 seconds ahead of the
time the Ball lit up the 2008 sign in Time Square?

Anyone else notice a discrepency?
