I use Delorme Earthmate PN-20 for driving and hiking. It is my first
GPS device, bought it about three months ago, I spent over a month
comparing with other GPSs before deciding on the PN-20. I'm very
pleased with it except for its relatively poor battery life. With LI-
ION battery I purchased from Delorme, it last only about four hours at
most. Delorme just released a new firmware for the PN-20 which
enables a "hybrid display", like Google Map's roads displayed over
satellite, but better because Delorme adds contour lines. Basically,
you can load raster maps and enable the TOPO 7 vector map's road and/
or contour lines to show over a raster map. This is a new cool
feature and as far as I know not currently available on ANY other GPS
device. I just used it hiking and I must say it's very useful if
you're into display details. See the feature list here...
