Hi everyone,
I literally have no real experience with image processing. My goal is to
though, to build an autonomous model car that will follow a white line.
I'm going to be using optical sensors but I also wanted to add a CCD
camera.
That way, the car could tell how long the track is or when the next turn
is coming up and whatnot.
I was thinking this would be accomplished by gathering data by using a
monochrome CCD camera. The the image processing that we would be doing
would basically consist of counting the pixels horizantly, finding the
width of the white line, then finding where the mid point is. then
moving up one pixel and doing the same thing. eventually we'll have a
line of midpoints. i hope that makes sense.
anyways, i can't seem to find any tutorials about this. i don't even
know where to start for the camera as well. all i know is that the
vertical resoltuion will be more important than the horizantal and that
we want a digital output. we are using a ATmega128 microcontroller.
Thank you for your help!
Dave
