Cip3 Binary image alignment

Please help me!!!!
i read this in Cip3 spec."Specifies that the image data for one image line
is aligned to the number of bytes given

(1, 2, or 4; default is 1) This attribute may only be used, if no encoding
or compression is used.".

Anyone knows what means???
