Thanks my friend, very interesting.
I am dithering about whether to adopt a phase correlation, or a
multiple block association method, but the first method seems to be
faster - and some say, better than the second.
I had a read of this paper:
http://www-ise.stanford.edu/class/ee392j/projects/projects/liang_report.pdf
which sounds ideal. I am a newcomer in this field, but it seems that
the author is dividing the successive images into 16x16 blocks and then
doing a phase correlation on each of these. This seems to pick up
individual motion vectors within each image, rather than gross
translative motion. However, the author then gets me confused by
talking about using 32x32 blocks too!
