Web image search engines?

Hello,
This question arose from my wish to find a particular image which I saw
long ago, but in this newsgroup I am asking it as a general problem.
I would like to be able to draw a crude sketch of the image I remember
and submit it to a search engine just as I can submit a few loose words
that I recall from a piece of text. And then presto! get a few dozen
web references, one of which will be the image I am craving for.
My memory of it is imprecise and my artistic skills are inexistent,
so my sketch will only convey a general structure of the image,
like what sorts of objects (people, actually) are there and how they are
placed relative to each other. I could also state a couple of things
about the general appearance of the image: that it was a drawing,
mostly in black, brown and dull red, etc etc.
Do such search engines exist?
If yes, where can I find them?
If not, can I expect them to be created in the forseeable future?
I have a hunch that this might be done using some spinoff technology
taken from the enormous work that has been devoted to the interpretation
of aerial and satellite imaging.
Thanks in advance,
Leszek.
