Software Engineering Manager

Responsibilities:

Manage a world-class team of algorithm engineers to develop and deliver
algorithms to support and enhance the performance of KLA-Tencors wafer
inspection product lines. This position involves managing both the
deliverables to our current generation product lines as well as
providing the technical leadership and expertise to meet our
next-generation performance requirements.

Managing current platform deliverables involves managing across
cross-functional teams to ensure algorithm requirements are documented
and correct, ensuring that the algorithm performance requirements are
met, and ensuring accurate schedules are developed and met for
delivering the algorithms to the products. In addition, the work must
be of excellent quality in terms of performance, reliability, and
customer ease of use.

Managing the development of next generation algorithms involves
providing the technical vision to help determine the overall algorithm
roadmap. He/She must work with Marketing, Characterization and
Applications departments to determine requirements and success metrics
up front. Providing the technical leadership to drive the
development of revolutionary algorithms for future platforms is also a
must. He/She must have the ability to analytically and experimentally
evaluate the pros and cons of various approaches to ensure that the
right algorithms are developed. Must also gain an understanding and
knowledge of the HW system (both optics and signal chain) to drive
development of performance enhancing algorithms.

Must be able to effectively communicate algorithm status, results,
issues, and roadmap to senior and executive management.

Qualifications:

- Ph.D + 6 years industry relevant experience, or M.S. + 7 years
industry relevant experience.
- Extensive knowledge of Image Processing theory and applications
- Knowledge of Multiprocessor hardware and algorithm optimization
techniques.
- Experience managing a team with proven track record of delivery
- Knowledge of SW techniques for programming in an embedded
environment.
- Excellent mathematical and analytical skills.
- Excellent problem solving skills and demonstrated ability to approach
problem solving in systematic, logical fashion.
- Ability to think creatively and come up with innovative solutions.
- Team Player
