Thanks for your comment. I know Peter Kovesi personally - I used to
lecture at UWA in the very next building - and it was he and Professor
Robyn Owen who introduced me to the phase congruency work.

I wasn't aware that he had made any code available - I will have to get
in touch with him again and see if his latest developments.

Apart from the Matlab code, there are papers.

A long time ago, I had dealings with a geologist who worked with
Landsat images and edge enhancement for detection of lineaments (and
hence potential mineralisation). It was amazing, he could see patterns
in what seemed to be random images, and then seemed to be able to
envision a full 3-D model of the earth beneath.
