What is the best image processing concept/strategy to "see" the seeds
through the wires?
The first thing you should try is to get better images. You could, for
example, use a lower x-ray tube voltage, which would increase the
contrast of the wires (I assume they are made out of copper or a high
atomic number material). You could also increase the exposure (mas) to
lower the noise.
Then, you might try filtering with something like a Laplacian of a
gaussian that is matched for "roundish" objects and less so for
straight line objects.
