Re: Combining multiple photographic exposures into an HDR image

Am 21.09.2007 19:59 postulierte Jeff Mather folgendes:
Here's how to create an HDR from several coregistered LDR images, in its most basic form:

(1) Load each LDR image and its exposure information.

(2) Exclude over- and underexposed pixels.

(3) Divide the LDR image by its exposure (relative to a baseline image) to move all of the images into the same exposure scale.

(4) Average the properly exposed pixels. The number of input pixels that contribute to each output pixel may vary.

First, thanks to all who answered!

That step 3 Jeff mentioned is what made me wonder: Most programs I've seen use the EV value to classify the images. But how, exactly does the exposure value correspond to the pixels in the high dynamic range file.

I'll go meditate on this and check out the web resources posted here.

As I said: Thanks for the help!
Regards,
Markus
