high pass filtering

Does anyone know of any algorithm/source code (preferable C/C++) that
simulates what Photoshop's "high pass" filter achieves?

I can't seem to find out exactly what that filter is doing but I need
similiar results in one of my own applications.

I'm assuming it is utilizing some type of convolution kernel...

Thank you,
