How to design a weak classifier to classify histogram

Good everyone, I am designing a boosting classifier to classify face
image, the feature of image is the histogram of gray value, but now I
don’t known how to design a weak classifier or what kind of measures
can been used to distinguish useful histogram feature from redundant
histogram feature? Thank you for your attention! I am appreciating
