I only use it to enter characters I don't know, to look them up in
dictionaries. I use a touchpad, so the mouse doesn't sound bad to me at
all. Certainly not optimal, though.

"l" is for "little". Prepend an "l" to any of "a", "i", "u", "e", or "o" to
get ぁぃぅぇぉ.
