*grrr* I hate saying this but.... Jeff is right.

One of the manga I'm reading (aimed at College students) has so many
obscure words that the J-E has no entry for it, but the J-J always did.
Mercifully, the model I own has a push-n-pop jump-return feature so it's
easy to jump from a word in the J-J definition to the J-E part. Also, this
particular manga-ka is a kanji freak and uses some of alternate kanji
compounds for common words. The kind of kanji the J-E did not have, but
the J-J did.

You also lose your discomfort with dealing with "hard-core" written
Japanese so you no longer freak out when you see mostly words you don't know.
