On this occasion I thought it was worth trying unicode - but it didn't make any useful
difference. [backslash] appears to be extremely transient no matter where it comes
from (including when I put \ in the source of a HTML format post). For that matter
every time Jim has typed what I assume to be [backslash] I see [half-width-yen].

Where I _did_ have a [backslash] displayed copying it somewhere else resulted in
another [half-width-yen]. I'd like to get hold of whoever thought 'overlaying' the yen
symbol onto the backslash was a good idea and say a few things >_<
