I'll agree to that. But there was a region more or less universally
called Palestine, and I think it's very understandable why the
population that lived there are called Palestinians.

I'll agree to that, but I'd add that the problem was compounded by
support (I believe) by Europe and the US for the Jewish immigrants
against the majority non-Jewish population. And the resulting Israeli
state didn't really do much to provide a free nation.

How many Palestinians have ever been elected to public office in
Israel? How many serve in the national government? And do Palestinians
get the same rights as Jews, meaning is an Israeli Jew just as likely
to be uprooted and moved as an Israeli Arab?
