New words at the end, grammar word examples first.
Well actually $BE>MQ(B I didn't do very well with. I found a lot of uses in
grammatical contexts but for one reason or another I didn't like any of
the sentences I found. Eventually I gave up and got this instead
$BE>MQ(B
$BK\%5%$%HFb$N5-=R!"2hA|!"<L??$NL5CGE>:\!&E>MQ$r6X;_$7$^$9!#(B
Reproduction or appropriation of HTML, images and photographs from within
this site is prohibited.
but I'm not too happy with the translation :-/
$BL>;l6g(B
$B$3$N$h$&$JL>;l6g$r1#$l5?LdJ8(B(concealed question)$B$H$$$$$^$9!#(B
This sort of noun phrase is called a 'concealed question'.
$B8l7AJQ2=(B
$B$3$N$h$&$K!"L>;l$NJQ2=$N%Q%?!<%s$,$"$kB>$K!"F0;l$N8l7AJQ2=$b8=Be(B
$B1Q8l$h$j$b$$$m$$$m$J<oN`$,$"$j$^$7$?!#(B
In this way, as well as the pattern for the declension of nouns,
there were also more types of verb declensions than in modern English.
NEW WORDS.
$BL>;l@a(B $B!Z$a$$$7$;$D![(B(n) (gram) noun clause
Included in Goo dictionary, 3,680 Google hits, defined in 'Royal
English Grammar'. "$BL>;l@a$O@\B3;l(B(that, if, whatever),$B5?Ld;k(B (who, what
$B$J$I(B), $B4X78;l(B (what, whoever $B$J$I(B) $B$KF3$+$l$k@a$G!"J8$N<g8l!"Jd8l!"(B
$BL\E*8l$*$h$SF13F@a$K$J$k!#(B"
$BIU2C8l(B $B!Z$U$+$4![(B(n) (gram) adjunct
Not in Goo dictionary, 1,260 Google hits, defined in 'Royal English Grammar'.
"$B$3$N$h$&$K:o=|$9$k$3$H$N$G$-$J$$J!;cE*8l6g$r!"$U$D$&$N=$>~8l6g$H6hJL$7$F!"(B
$BFCJL$KIU2C8l(B (Adjunct) $B$H$$$&$3$H$,B?$$!#(B"
I suppose it wouldn't hurt to have $B7AMF;l6g(B, but it's a bit marginal.
Especially as given $B7AMF;l(B and $B6g(B it's pretty easy to work out - only
913 Google hits.
$B7AMF;l6g(B $B!Z$1$$$h$&$7$/![(B(n) (gram) adjective phrase
