*ahem* Anywho. If I'm not mistaken (and I quite possibly could be)

would be "I hear from someone that the fuel is going to run out."

would be "I expect that the fuel is going to run out."
but $B$O$:(B is a fairly vague expectation not one based on definite
signs in front of you.

while
$B$J$/$J$j(B $B$=$&$G$9(B
is "It seems that the fuel _is_ running out." (e.g. it's starting to
fade, the needle is bumping against the EMPTY stop).
