I started to read it. It was sort of interesting, but not my thing in any
language.

Hmm, I don't really have anything to offer. The Japanese novels I've read have
either been a) /Relatively/ easy Japanese or b) /Translated/ into Japanese (and
hence their naturalness is suspect).
I /liked/ the Harry Potter books - but I don't know that they'd be that good to
learn from because the Japanese is probably the 'wrong sort of odd'.
