For the "glottal stop" I was thinking of expletives where it's used like an
exclamation point, as Chris suggested:

Of course when it's in the middle of a word you can already write "gakkou,"
and the case of of $B%5%C(B being taken from the beginning of its compound and
needing to be represented "phonetically" is kind of an oxymoron, since the
phonetics entirely depend on what follows. How about writing "sa(s-)" and
"soku" if "sat-" or "sa' " are unacceptable?
