IMO, what matters here is the meaning, and not what some more or less
educated title translator would choose when releasing in US[1]. So, the
meaning is "the movie", or "the motion picture", since that's what you'd
commonly call version meant to be shown in theatre based on previous
original work, be it book or manga or anime TV show. And that it is used
in this meaning can be clearly seen from links you have conveniently
included above :)

[1] With my roots in anime fansubbing community, I often find quality of
work that would pass for translation in official US DVD edition, umm,
stunning, and it's not in the positive way... Let me just say that I'd be
ashamed to ever sign anything like that with my name. It seems you
really need to be paid for to do some kinds of shitty work...
