his unusual dream, the narrator (and the reader) are supposed to consider that love exists, even in those barbarous cirumstances, so fortunately, there being love doesn't come as unexpected as I
thought it did... :-)

In reallity(?), the conflict like "は vs が" doesn't exist gramatically. :)
They are different layer of sentense structure, and は is not used only
for Subjects... problem is only when the Theme is also a Subject (with は)
or the the Subject is not the Theme (with が). People who speak SVO language
are conscious about what is the Subject, but often unconscious about
TC (Theme-Comment) structure (well, sorry I forgot this word Comment so
used Description) often present but hidden in their own language.
Whenever you wonder about "は vs が",
1) consider (Subject)が as modifier, or complement to the predicate
2) If you can paraphrase "Talking about (Subject), it ..." then use は.

I've been getting too much spams, and stopped using my real address
on the usenet. And I'm still getting too much spams (more than 100 a day)
so this hiding either doesn't have much effect, or it was too late.
The real address is muchan@promikra.si as it was since 1995...
I have another hidden address which is not contaminated yet...
If your off-topic is interesting for me to discuss, or not,
that is another question. On writing E-mail to me, please avoid keywords
that may match spam filters. 8)
