JLPT/ job

I was wondering what kind of opportunities have opened for anyone
job-wise if you passed JLPT lvl 1 whether in Japan or your home
country. I'm currently studying for lvl 1 right now and would like to
get some kind of job where I can make use of my "japanese ability"
when I go back to America. I'm not opposed to translating/interpreting
but I think that's a difficult field to get into unless you're
bilingual(^_^). anyway, I'd like to hear stories from anyone who's had
some kind of experience where having the certificate for this test
helped (or not).
thanks
jim
