Re: How to spell the name "Takako"

gave me a fourth suggestion.

So, how do we spell that (or any other, for that matter)
name if we're not entirely sure how to get it right? Do we
try "at wild" and then read the red carnation of the
person how mad he/she got with us?

My practice has been to ask a mutual friend for the kanji. If there is no mutual friend, I write it in katakana. The reply then usually contains the correct kanji to use.

If anyone has taken any level of offense, they have not revealed it to me.
