I've heard "shinde shimau" become "shinjimau" but I'm not sure I've heard "dete shimau" become "dechimau". Is it just me or is the "imau" form only with the "de" not the "te" form of the verb?
I noticed this when I was looking at Wikipedia yesterday when I was doing some very minor edits on the Japanese grammar page:

.
