I'd just like to mention how impressed I am by the work Ben has done on the
SLJ FAQ. One can spend a long time just happily browsing in there, following
links and tangents, but one doesn't get lost. It's really well organized. I
think it is on its way to becoming one of the premier internet resources for
learners of Japanese. I tip my hat, or would if I had one.
For anyone reading this who hasn't been there recently:

I'm glad you find it useful. Actually it's surprising to me how much stuff from there seems to have been used as a reference. I found stuff which looks almost identical to the "Japanese address system" on the Japanese post office's page in English, and the Wikipedia entry on Japanese addresses. Also the list of Portugese words in Japanese copied verbatim into the Portugese Wikipedia. I suppose imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.

There is a lot more I'd like to do with it, and one thing in particular is to open it up as a "Wiki" system. However, this does present some problems with the software to use. In the mean time I'd be quite happy to let people edit the original document, or just use plain old email to send stuff in.

Ben.
