My newsserver has two quirks. Quirk 1 : Cancelled messages appear anyway, but can't actually be read

Quirk 2 : Very recently posted messages often behave exactly like cancelled messages (e.g. softly and silently vanish away if you try
to read them).

In other words I wasn't _really_ trying to 'hack into' your message in the knowledge that you had cancelled it.

Talking about interesting sentences in WWWJDIC ...

君は健康のだめに煙草を止めた方がいい。
You had better give up smoking for your health.

You mean the English version sounds sort of suicidal?

Now you mention it ... but actually I was thinking of the Japanese.
Is it You had better give up tobacco (that is terrible for your health).
or was that a typo for *た*めに ?
