Re: Encoding question for Japanese blog

I set up a Japanese blog using "BBlog" software,
but I am getting some "moji-bake". The blog
software encodes everything as UTF-8. My browser
is set to read UTF-8, and most of the Japanese
can be read. In fact the only characters that come
up as question marks are the hiragana "ne" and the
katakana "ro" and "ki". Also the kanji for "ko" (kodomo no ko)
and the kanji for "mo" (moji no mo) also don't display.
The odd thing is these problems only occur in the comments
section of the blog. When I view the comments in the edit
section of my blog control panel, everything looks fine.

Does anyone have any idea what the problem might be?

A link to your blog would help.

Failing that I can only suggest one possibility. That at some point bytes of your encoded Japanese text are being replaced with "browser safe" equivalents. For example " (0x22) being replaced with "
.
