Hmmmm... I remember reading about that one fairly early on in my
studies--something about the Earnest Learner hearing a Japanese person
say "where's the crab?" when in fact he said "where's the key?" It was a
long time ago, though, so I wouldn't be able to dredge up that text.
This is the sort of thing I'm getting at
i.e. where the NG instead of G would change one word into another and
confuse the meaning. So far, in my experience, it has been easy to
detect, as with AriNgato.
