I agree! Did you ever actually hear someone else say that, Don?
I've thought Japanese is remarkably resistant to spoonerisms on the whole (though my mother in law reportedly called shelves "tonada" and "new" is "atarashii" instead of "aratashii").
But "Asashi Himbun" is a tongue-twister. I shall stick with "Asash-shimbun."
