Re: 第 or 目

muchan a pianoté dans le forum sci.lang.japan :
How about thinking -me as suffix originated in Japanese language,
and dai- as prefix imnported from Chinese?
Just plain yamatokotoba vs kango difference thingy.

ok, if I understand well, and simplifying a bit, a clear answer for a basic
speaker would be :

as 一課 is 音読み, I should use 第
as ふたり is 訓読み, I should use 目

or maybe the explanation is full of counterexamples ?
