Does this sentence mean, for example, "Give me some reasons
why you think that he went.

The English sentence #3 is gibberish. Perhaps that was intentional. The
purpose of the original poster is quite opaque.

The "*" on the front means "gibberish follows."

The purpose of the OP is only moderately opaque; he seems to be trying
to figure out what constraints there are on movement in different kinds
of languages.

I sincerly think that the OP should have wrote the question on <sci.lang>
newsgroup... Or you (Bart) are probably only one here in <s.l.japan>,
who read his intent properly, and could reply in the language he could
understand...

I did post the question to that group.
But this is a sci.lang forum, and it is legitimate to expect to find
some people who know some basics about linguistics.

I would never translate a sentense whose "meaning is irrelevant".

To reiterate, I didn't ask you guys to translate a whole sentence whose
"meaning is irrelevant"; instead, I was asking about a structural
possibility. (I did ask for "word-for-word translation", but I asked
for gloss, actually.)
