well i'm glad to see that i wasn't the only one unsure of
枠の止め金. i think i'm going with strike plate, since it seems to

Your supposition is surely interesting, which however shows that
the context is everything.
We have to think whether the door may be made of wood or of
alminum alloy in which case a frame is firstly inserted into the
space between the two pillars. 「枠の止め金」 will reasoaly be
understood.

The author wrote 「バキーッとはずれて」. This might be
a clue to decide how big the broken part was. As I am not a
NSoJ it is difficult to say, but it sounds like a small part, doesn't
it.
