Oops! I goofed! I didn't see that り (ri) after 大流行. It
doesn't change the meaning but it substantially changes the reading.
大流行 is dairyuukou, whereas 大流行り is oohayari
(おおはやり). You'll also see 大流行り read as daihayari
(だいはやり) but much less frequently. They both mean "very
popular", "big hit", "big fad", "craze", etc.
The Romaji should read:
Chimata de wa oohayari rashiku, nanto CD made
Hatsubai sarete iru mitai desu ga...
The translation remains unchanged:
It seems to be quite the rage around town. What a CD!
And it appears that it has just hit the stands...

You already know that 大流行 (だいりゅうこう - dairyuukou)
in this context means big hit, fad, craze, etc.
As I said above, I goofed. It's not 大流行 (だいりゅうこう
- dairyuukou) but 大流行り (おおはやり - oohayari) also with
the meaning of big hit, fad, craze, etc.
Sorry again for the mix-up. I guess I should enlarge the fonts before
I read the posts.
