The following has been submitted for inclusion in EDICT/JMdict:
尾ける [つける] /(v1) to hunt a spy/to have a tail appendage/
I'm having a problem with it. I can find ~1,000 instances of
it in WWW pages, but can't confirm those meanings. 尾/お/ビ does
mean "tail" of course, but is not read つ.
Is it a typo for 着ける?
Or a visual pun meaning 着ける?
Help.
Well as already said the word is from 後を付ける (most often written with that kanji) and the kanji is from 尾行する
I don't think you need an Edict entry for it unless you plan to include
勃つ 【たつ】
a much more popular "word" based on the same type of kanji substitution.
