The (?) is a kanji which I can't make out; I can't find it in Wakan,
and the furigana are too blurry to read. Either way, I think it says
something about "an offering to a kid who died here recently". So is
that what キヘ means or am I completely off?

If you have a page number and reference, I've got the volume 1 BLEACH
tankoubon and should be able to look it up.

I think that's a bit overly 人よし - if he can't work out ガキヘ then
he's got more fundamental things to work on than looking up
お供え餅 in a dictionary.

Proud to be an お人よし even though it means, at times, I'm a sucker for a con.
I am well aware of the abundance of scanned material on the internet and
the availability of scanned Japanese manga and so-called 'scanlations'.
However, I do not want to discourage frozt from his ambitious endeavor to
learn Japanese. I will take him at his word that he is using scans because
he could not obtain original material. He is already aware of the low
quality of the scans since he is unable to read the furigana. It will take
a language student just starting out a great deal of time to work through
the entire book. It costs around 500 yen with Japanese tax. Even paying a
high shipping cost, frozt would end up spending only a few yen per hour.
