水をかけないのが普通ではないか。

On the topic of nincompoopery, the little lad also set up a trip wire
(罠綱) for me by the living room door a day or two ago. Fortunately he

つまずかせられなかった is not wrong, but I'd say just つまずかなかった, or
つまずないですんだ.

罠綱 is a quite unfamiliar word... I think just ひも works.
(Oh, you used ひも in second sentence!)
I think there is one word that fit perfectly here, but I forgot.
他のおばかさんも要注意 also can be optimised, but I leave it.

Someone who wasn't a nincompoop. Actually come to think of it my
daughter probably is a nincompoop as well, she presses the yobidashi
button so that she can tittle tattle (告げ口) to me about her older
brother who splashed water on her etc.

おばかさんでない人。そういえば娘もおばかさんと呼んでもいいかも。娘はお兄
さんが水をかけたとかの告げ口をするためだけに呼び出しを押すこともある。


I think they are quite normal children. It's not normal only when grown up
does sully things which only childrens should do...
