I'm surprised that you seem to have fallen for the old "two wrongs make a right"
fallacy, though.

You're right, two wrongs don't make a right. But in life you take what
you can get, and two wrongs make an even. If you have the emotional
control to worry about right and wrong after being cheated on, you
probably deserved to be cheated on. If you don't, then you're human,
and for most humans, "even" will do just fine.

Instead now he's in the idiotic position of arguing with perfect strangers over the
Internet about his marriage and what he should be doing about it.

Paul, you are a fount of wisdom and the image of reason itself. You're
absolutely right.
