I just ran through this thread very quickly. Whatever it is, it is not
a good idea to talk to your wife by yourself since you don't seem to
have a good communication skill. Can you get someone who can be
completely neutral? This person is not able to save the marriage, but
this person can prevent from the conversation being ugly. Usually,
nobody wants to do that so, be warned.

When a Japanese person has to speak English in such a delicate
situation, never rush or push or give her a hard time. She's got to
relax before she speaks foreign language decently.
