The game itself is Breath of Fire, first in the series. (My
eventual goal is to go through the entire series, comparing the

the most important thing is the first two games, because they were

*mis*translated in some places.)

Just curious. When you said this is the first in the series, I
assume we're talking about the original game rather than the remake
for the Gameboy Advanced. The one I played was the old one.

Correct. I do eventually plan to get around to the GBA version, to see
if there are any differences if nothing else (aside from small quirks
like the introduction of place-name text in - I think it was the menu
screen - which was not there in the original), but for the time being
I'm workiing purely with the original SNES game.

(Oh, and unless you have evidence to indicate otherwise - in which case,
please do point me to it, because I'd very much like to not be routinely
irritated over this - that's "Game Boy Advance". Please excuse the
aside; this is one of the more minor of my pet peeves.)

Sorry about that. I already confessed to Paul I needed an English
dictionary after the "wolve's" faux pas.
