A technique I'd really like to try is listening to audio books in
Japanese - assuming that such things exist. I've looked for them a
couple of times in the past, but with no success. Anyone?
Easy. The trick is that they aren't called 'audio books' in Japanese.
What you'll find is that there are lots of anime series have sound only
programs as well. Sometimes before they get together the funds to have
a _real_ anime series.
Try a amazon.co.jp search on ドラマCD.
I think I haven't bought any ドラマCD nor listened to ones
more than 15 minutes in total, but I believe a typical ドラマ
CD is an original story to rip off otakus aside from anime,
and "audio book" is still "オーディオブック" in Japanese.
