Does anyone know how italic is used in Japanese document? Is there any
specific rule on using it?
I have a client that asked whether italic is ever used in Japanese
document. I know that in Japanese Word there is a button to make
italics, but I rarely saw documents that have Kanji italicized.
Besides, kanji looks ugly when it is italicized...
Italics are sometimes used in subtitles to indicate that there are two different speakers on the same "page" of subtitles. I can't think of anywhere else I've seen them used much.
